WATER SKIPS on Lake Vermilion!

The weather is finally turning towards ATV weather!  Besides a few short, cold rides here and there and/or plowing the driveway.  There isn’t a whole lot going on in the ATV world during the winter but that is rapidly changing!

The kick off to the ATV riding season for me is always Water Skips on Vermilion!  Last year we had 29 machines that left Fortune Bay Resort and Casino and this year I think we can beat it!  I’ve talked to a lot of different people this year that hadn’t really heard about it it now and they’re all in.  We start lining up and meet at the Marina (docks) at Fortune Bay about 10am and start heading across the lake at 11am.  Contact me for more information!

It’s Official!

For everyone that attended or followed the news stories about the World Record ATV Parade in Silver Bay this summer, the number is official!  1632 ATV’S!  It was a great weekend and one to brag about.

The down side? It sparked a lot of interest all across the United States with ATV enthusiasts…….  On September 16th in Richfield, Utah, they had a parade with they say the had 2014 ATV’s attend and are waiting for that number to be Official!  As of now Minnesota has the record, it’s already rumored that ATVAM is already talking about and strategizing about the next MINNESOTA RECORD.

And, finally, it looks like it might be time to put the plow mounts on… but don’t put it away, we ride all winter around here!

Iron Range ATV Pull was Awesome!

The final numbers for the ATV Pull show about 125 people through the gates.  That’s a great turn out and exactly what we were hoping for being it was the first time for the event.  We had 29 racers total.  The 0-550 class was won by a Polaris 500,  0-699 class was won by a Can-am 650, 0-1000 class was won by a Can-am 800, Side X Side class winner was a Yamaha Rhino 660, and a lady on a Can-am 500 won the powder puff class.   I have a few pictures here and I’ll get everyone the link to the youtube video and a list of all the winners soon as I get it!

Everyone had a great time and lots of people said they just came to watch this year but will be back next year with their atv’s!  Jim’s Sports Bar and Grill had an Awesome BBQ and beer for everyone.  I think our ATV Club even gained a few members after seeing how much fun we all had with a day of ATV’s.   Hope to see everyone next year!   For more info please get ahold of me!

ATV Parade Anyone?

Sounds like our trip to the ATV Parade in Silver Bay will be downsized from last year.  Last year we had 18 ATV’s from the Northern Traxx ATV Club in Chisholm.  This year, it sounds like seven are planning to ride, so far.  I really hope this isn’t the case for other clubs and the ATV groups that attended last year.  We need to beat this record!

The parade is Saturday June 13th.  The day starts with a pancake feed, registration and the parade at 11:15 a.m.  It’s a full day at the parade with an Auction following, Dinner and a Banquet type announcement meeting in the evening.

Anyone else planning to attend???

Lake Vermilion Water Skips

Enough of WINTER!!!

We’re saying “bye” to the snow and ice this weekend up on Lake Vermilion this weekend.

We have 30+ machines leaving from Fortune Bay Resort and Casino (Marina parking lot) at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.  We’re heading up to Water Skips on Lake Vermilion / Trout Lake River.   Anyone that’s interested or wanting to join us this weekend, feel free to contact me.  Its an awesome day at water skips and an awesome site when we show up with over 30 ATV’s.

Still unsure or heard about Water Skips but never seen it???
Check out hundreds of videos on YouTube and watch videos from the last few years.  Also, in my past blogs and on my facebook and MySpace pages you can also find pictures and links to YouTube videos and pictures from last year’s ride to the Lake Vermilion Water Skips.

Last year, I’d estimate there was 800+ people up there and this year is set to be bigger yet!!!!  I’ll be sure to share fresh pictures and video from this year in next weeks blog.

(P.S. Now you can follow me on Twitter, too!)
