It’s time to RIDE!!! With the snow almost gone and the swamps still frozen, this is a great time to get out and ride! It’s an ideal time to get to all the places you want to see but can’t get there without swamping your machine.
If you were to come riding with me this coming weekend, we’d be on our way up to the Wooden Table Inn north of Buhl. The terrain is beautiful up there - huge pine trees and nice sandy trails all over! At the Wooden Table, you can fill up your gas tank and eat the BEST PRIME RIB you’ve ever tasted! For all of you who have ridden the trails on the Iron Range, let me know where your favorite trails are located! If you have a favorite watering hole or restaurant, I wanna hear about it. And, if you’ve got a new ride (ATV), or great new gear that’s a “must-have” let me know what you’ve got and why you like it!
Be sure to check back for more info about Iron Range ATV trails, new equipment, dining and entertainment hot spots and more as the snow continues to melt away on the Iron Range.
I am coming to the Iron range for the first time ever in July with my daughter, a friend and his son. We wil be staying at Villas at Giants Ridge. My question is, is there 1 place to ride or are there several trail heads we can take on different days? How do I get ahold of the best trail maps? I have 2 new 800cc Polaris 2-ups that I am very excited to break in.
Bill, you can find all the Iron Range trails on http://www.findthetrails.com. You can download and print them right away.
If your planning on spending a couple days on the trails, I’m sure your first day will be at the ATV park in Gilbert? The second day I’d recommend the Thistledew trails North of Nashwauk. It’d be about an hour ride from the Villa’s but you can ride up there for the whole day and next cross paths!!! When your up there you’ll cross lots of powerlines and old logging roads with heavily ridden trails that you can turn off and spend some time on.
I’d brind a 5 gallon can of gas (twin polaris 800’s will suck it up), you might be having so much that your not ready to quit and there isn’t gas anywhere close. There’s lots of other trails that I could point you towards if you have or hear about something else your interested in, let my know!!!!
Don’t forget to comment on your weekend!
